WHAT DID THE INTERNET DO?

I remember when back in the days, we could send letters to our relatives through the mail. After the letter was sent, I am pretty sure that I had to wait for about a week later for the reply. Nowadays, you can send email message with the click of a mouse and expect a reply within 14 seconds. The internet is a great source of information but sometimes I still wonder about"what if we didnt have it".
I read this article written by Ryan Tracy, an author for newsweek.com. He basically talked about some certain things we used to use in order to communicate but he just so happens to say" we still use it today but the internet just killed it". He sounded dissapointed just by the tone of his statement but I completely agree with it.
He listed many examples like the modern 9 to 5 workday, letter writing, rental stores for things such as dvds, cds and etc. As I read through the article, the best point he made about why the internet was a huge problem was losing the ability to concentrate. I think that people are just so fascinated by technology so much that, its all they use as their number one resource to know information. Another example he made was the telephone book. I remember when back in the days when we were writing down numbers on a piece of paper or just writing in a typical address book but as you can see as of today, the average human can just save a number by pressing a button on their cellphone and saving it digitally.
Everybody uses the internet everyday but you can never depend on it when you do everything. Its dependable but the more you use it the riskier it gets. Just by the click of a mouse, or sending an email can do as much damage to your privacy or even put you in a very stressing situation. The internet is great but it is always good to back to basics every once in a while.(Ryan Tracy)
