BY; FREDERICK EDWARDS.
My name is Frederick Edwards. I'm currently a full-time student at Shaw University. I was born in the city of Durham so i guess i am a local boy. I've lived here in the Raleigh-Durham and i absolutely love everything about it. Even though they are so many things spread apart as people may say ' i love everything about the city. One of my favorite things i like to tell people about me is that I am a complete fan of MMA(mixed martial arts). I love the sport because i've been watching the sport ever since I was little and kind of did a little boxing in my younger days so I just mixed the two with each. I go to the gym every now and then to train with my instructor because I would like to be a mixed martial arts fighter one day.

WHAT DID THE INTERNET DO?
I remember when back in the days, we could send letters to our relatives through the mail. After the letter was sent, I am pretty sure that I had to wait for about a week later for the reply. Nowadays, you can send email message with the click of a mouse and expect a reply within 14 seconds. The internet is a great source of information but sometimes I still wonder about"what if we didnt have it".
I read this article written by Ryan Tracy, an author for newsweek.com. He basically talked about some certain things we used to use in order to communicate but he just so happens to say" we still use it today but the internet just killed it". He sounded dissapointed just by the tone of his statement but I completely agree with it.
He listed many examples like the modern 9 to 5 workday, letter writing, rental stores for things such as dvds, cds and etc. As I read through the article, the best point he made about why the internet was a huge problem was losing the ability to concentrate. I think that people are just so fascinated by technology so much that, its all they use as their number one resource to know information. Another example he made was the telephone book. I remember when back in the days when we were writing down numbers on a piece of paper or just writing in a typical address book but as you can see as of today, the average human can just save a number by pressing a button on their cellphone and saving it digitally.
Everybody uses the internet everyday but you can never depend on it when you do everything. Its dependable but the more you use it the riskier it gets. Just by the click of a mouse, or sending an email can do as much damage to your privacy or even put you in a very stressing situation. The internet is great but it is always good to back to basics every once in a while.(Ryan Tracy)

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS-- INJURIES FOR THE FIGHTER!!!!
When it comes to mixed martial arts. This sport has been around for thousands of years, and praticed in many different cultures and countries. Martial arts has become more than a tournament held some where, its a part of some people every day life. With this sport going main stream, the dangers come along with it. There are many fighters that think once they become injured or just a little slight problem, people fail to see the dangers of a serious injury and it is prevented from happening by letting the body restore it's self and always eating healthy. In kick boxing fighter have a definite chance of getting any type of injury or sometimes head injuries due to being kick and harmmered down. I think that fighters and the people around them should take the time out in look at the great danger and risk they put their bodies in. It might not be a factor now but later on in life, it is going to catch up with you and make you weak.
WHEN I WALK INTO MY ROOM!!
Once entering my room, the first thing a person sees are my sky blue walls and white ceiling. On these walls are posters of rappers and UFC fighters, the next thing that catches a person eye is the waterbed that makes the black covered pillows look like they're floating. At the foot of my bed seating on top of my brown dresser is my flat screen 32 inch tv. There is also a glass stand right next to my XBOX. On the floor when looking at my white rug, the first thing you see is a polar bear fur looking animal laying down with the mouth wide opened just like the ones you see on tv. I have only one window with sky blue curtains to cover the sunlight coming in. Sometimes on a nice day, i can see my whole neighborhood from where it starts to the end of it. In the corner of my room is a walk-in closet that i keep all my shirts and shoes along with my other belongings. WHEN I WALK INTO MY ROOM, i see it as a place where i can just relax and chill without being bothered.
The XBOX 360
The X-Box is one of the best game systems ever built. It has the power to connect people all over the world and is steady growing at a fast rate with its technology achivements. This special box and its wireless contorls alllow a person to loung around a play this from almost any were. The most special part of all about this game systems to me is the games that come out on the system seems to be the best to me, form hard core to a childs type given a person much more to choose from.
With the X-Box came out alot of issues dealing with a person having to keep it clean and what would be the best method of doing so. When I knew that a little cousin or someone that was known to be careless was coming around, putting my system up was the first idea that came to my mind. I knew that the cleaner the area around my game system less problems there would be, also keeping games from getting scracthed is a harder job than thought. The game company has made a clear spary for the games and a dise for the system, overtime it seems that both stop working and its time to start all over again. Some people fail to realize that the better a person treats there game the longer they will have it. With me knowing what there is to know about game systems now, and as far as the technology has come you have a better respect for the game system as a hole. The type of game systems that are landing in our living rooms, and bedrooms were thought about 30 years now here they are when it seems like we were just playing nintendo.
